We are masters of simplification

We Believe

Great design distills complexity to find the purest form: a single, simple, elegant idea. Our clients often operate in a complex world. We believe we can make it a better place for them by combining powerful strategic insight with maximum creative impact. We call it simplexity.

We Deliver

We are design specialists, marketing experts, brand strategists and content creators who infuse creativity with innovation, think strategically, manage effectively and deliver on time.

We make it our business to understand and make sense of the complicated context that our clients operate in. We distill what we learn and harness our understanding to create clear, simple outcomes that ignite and grow the brands in our care.

We Create

We find purpose by leading the exploration into simplification

We Care

Working at Infestation inspires integrity, not only in how we deal with people but also in the work we produce. As a team we channel our super-hero energy to embrace challenges, rarely taking no for an answer. We navigate roadblocks with purpose, positive attitudes and creative ideas. We treat our clients as friends and care deeply about their goals. And we operate with transparency, honesty and warm-hearted kindness.

Sam Bainbridge

Her speciality is digital and print publications and she has a knack for applying strategic thinking to every brief she tackles. Over the years Sam has not only nurtured our clients' briefs into powerful creative, she has also nurtured and coached some of the best talents in the industry.

Always friendly and engaging, she escapes the mayhem by art directing her vegetable garden, reading trashy novels and sparring at a local Muay Thai gym. She has a mean left hook.

Karla Ray

Karla forms the backbone of Infestation. She manages the accounts department as well as the overall studio administration, making sure the rest of us can focus on creative strategy and imagination. Her experience in this industry and attention to detail ensures we can run a professional business with the right systems and procedures.

We love her calm approach to any given challenge and she is an inspiration to everyone who wants to stay young at heart.

His ability to strategically interpret briefs, simplify complicated design concepts and pay attention to illustration details infuse our work with professionalism and creativity. Anton’s mastery of his craft and cutting-edge design sense is supported by his calm demeanour and sharp sense of humour. When he’s not in the studio, he’s in the gym or somewhere outside, enjoying all that Mother Nature has to offer.

Melissa Sherwin

Melissa is an infectious, cool-headed master of relationships. She makes everything seem simple. As a project manager she has her hand on the pulse of the studio, keeping the deadlines in check and clients happy. Melissa spent four years in the design industry in London. She returned to Cape Town and continued to work within client service and production in the design and advertising industry for another four years, before joining Infestation.

This experience ensures she knows what is ultimately possible, yet sometimes she makes the impossible happen.

Melissa loves Scandinavian design and music, and she has a deep interest in creativity, art and fashion. Always smiling, always calm, jobs are safe in her hands.

Miguel Netto

Marketing Manager

Miguel understands what clients need and how to translate those needs into a strategic creative brief. His experience in marketing on both client and agency side has given him the empathy and context to deliver nuclear marketing campaigns with the precision of a marksman.

With such a level head and diligent approach, it is no surprise that he is also an endurance athlete, ironman and long distance cyclist.

Hilary Alexander

Content Strategist and Writer

Hilary is a skilled writer and content strategist with over 20 years’ experience in devising and developing strategic business communications programmes. Chanel Wicher

Account Manager

As key account manager of one of our biggest clients, Chanel has the ability to have a big picture view, and never missing any detail. Whether it is on a spreadsheet or executive summary, Chanel stays focused, dedicated to the outcome and deliverables of her projects.

With her background in events management, she also knows that things can go wrong, and when they do, we are glad she is on our side.

When you meet her, ask her what she is listening to. You would never guess.

Shane Wells

Senior Finished Artist

Shane is an expert Finished Artist and the gatekeeper of all artwork that leaves our studio. With an eye for detail and in-depth technical know-how, he protects our clients from unwanted production surprises by ensuring that our creative designs are flawless when they arrive at the printing press or at the coders. His tech-savvy brain and helpful nature is also a vital part of daily life in our studio – especially when our computers encounter rare glitches in the matrix.

When he’s not finishing our artwork, you can find him finishing a beer while watching the game on Saturdays.

Sue Schimmel

Senior Designer

Sue can’t decide whether she prefers above- or below-the-line creative; design or art direction; print or digital. With 15+ years in above- and below-the-line agencies, she loves it all. She is an effective designer-art director with an holistic view on what makes brands work.

Originally from Durban, where, she says, the humidity incubates great creatives, Sue dislikes the cold, loves the sun and is happiest in the water. She’s inspired by people who live with passion, take chances and who always see humour in life. Her motto is: live by the currents, plan by the tides and follow the sun.

Paul-Louis Louw

Senior Designer

Louis is a graphic designer by trade and an artist at heart. His work always meets the brief with big beautiful ideas laden with creativity and that come to life with talent, enthusiasm, hard work and an ever-present pencil.

As a young father and husband he’s aware that time is precious. His days start at sunrise on the waves and end around the dinner table or the braai with family and friends. Louis’ mantra reflects his calm personality: ignore life’s noise. Rather find the magic in whispers.

Sheena Crowie

Production co-ordinator and office administrator

Sheena’s gentle nature belies the firm hand she uses to manage the many complex production demands of our clients’ projects. She works tirelessly to make sure we secure the best possible quality at the best possible price. Her strong organisational and administration skills don't end with production, however. She's also one of the few people who can keep up with the demands of the ever-changing studio and executive’s diary. So whether it’s a request for a meeting or booking a boardroom, Sheena is the person to talk to.

Sheena loves hanging out with her husband and daughter, hiking and soaking up the Vitamin D from the bright Cape Town sunshine.

Cindy van Heerden

Junior Designer

Cindy is one of those creatives that is truly rare to find. She has a sixth sense of what works, beyond her years. Although she is young and has only been designing for a few years, she takes great care when it comes to solving complex briefs. We love having her part of the team as she brings enthusiasm, dedication and the occasional peppermint tart to the studio.

Bernie Moses

Front of House

Bernie’s smile greets you when you call or visit our office. She joined us as a cleaner in 2005 and was later promoted to agency receptionist after a skills development programme. She is an integral part of Infestation’s daily operations.

Bernie loves meeting and helping people. She firmly believes that good communication is key to a professional organisation. She loves to learn and takes seriously her responsibility to make people feel welcome.

Bernie has three children – Warren, Reuben and Nikita. In her spare time she loves to spoil herself and indulge in people-watching.

Wayne Harrison

London representative

Based in London, Wayne is the face of our UK operation. Wayne’s 20+ year career has included stints as an award-winning creative, digital marketer, account manager and big-picture strategic thinker. He loves to get ‘under the bonnet’ of our clients’ businesses to help them establish strategic communication and marketing plans that will help brands grow, increase sales and strengthen relationships.

When’s he’s not doing that, he’s feeding his obsession with off-road motorcycles, airplanes (he has a pilot’s licence), hiking, and sharing extreme adventure sports with his wife and two teenage boys Robbie and Ethan.

We need dreamers, thinkers and doers on our team
