A Festival of Design
Now in its third year, Open Design is an annual design festival started by the Cape Town Design Network, with the support of the City of Cape Town and many other partners, to celebrate design and make it more accessible to all.
Involved right from the concept phase, it was important to ensure we retained the equity of the primary logo, yet still added a more depth and volume to this year’s theme, “Design is for Tomorrow”.
The collateral included street pole posters, flyers, an event programme, a responsive website and app, online advertising, signage and of course a social media campaign.
The results were astounding. It would have been difficult to live in and around Cape Town and not know about the festival. Attendance almost doubled from the year before, media exposure tripled and social media reach quadrupled.
We love design and Cape Town and we love to see how good design can be accessible. Designing for Open Design is definitely a highlight of our year.
