SAOGA

The South African Oil & Gas Alliance (SAOGA) promotes the development of South African-based industries supplying products and services to the oil and gas sector. Members include oilfield service companies, ship repairers, logistics companies going to and from the oilfields and a diverse base of engineering companies that supply equipment and services to the industry.

We were asked to create a rebrand for SAOGA for which the objectives were to deliver a consistent expression and application of the brand that would boost awareness of the alliances SAOGA has in both national and international markets.

The logo objective was for it to be fresh, modern, serious, sophisticated, of an international standard, and trustworthy. Each colour used in the brand palette is representative of one of the member industries to which SAOGA provides service; Red represents the Gas sector; Blue, the marine sector; and Black the oil sector.

The graphic support elements are derived from the overlaps in the SAOGA logo to add a level of dynamic contrast to the strong use of white space. The gridded graphic element adds a geographical, minimal and subtle element to the SAOGA brand.

The brand rolled out to a full corporate identity (business card, letter head and compliment slip) as well as an informative corporate folder with which the client was suitably impressed how well we listened to the brief and how successful the deliverables were.
